Creator fees come in here and leave only as grants to new fomolings. Nothing else can take from it.

The vault is a program derived account with no owner key and no withdraw instruction. SOL enters it three ways: creator fee claims forwarded from the creator wallet, unspent grants returned at retire, and half of every realized profit. SOL leaves it one way: a grant of 0.300 SOL to a new fomoling at hatch. There is no other path. The instruction list on the program page is complete; nothing is hidden.

Because grants are fixed, the vault balance divided by the grant is how many hatches the coin can fund right now. That number is below, and the theses page shows who is waiting for it.
